We are delighted to host the fourth VOX Reading Series event at ATHICA when local creative writers--selected by VOX organizers Matt Forsythe, Andy Frazee & Ida Stewart--add to our understanding of exhibits' themes though their literary reflections.
Left to right: Matt Forsythe, Andy Frazee & Ida Stewart
Flood Lines: Watery Stories & Poems will investigate the myriad issues addressed by our spring exhibition, Deluge, such as land use, climate change and flood experiences.
The evening's readers are: Lily Brown
Michael Tod Edgerton
Sara Henning Claire Paffenhofer
Kevin Vaughn
Caroline Young
All are MFA creative writers except Ms Henning, who is an instructor in the English Department at UGA and Ms. Paffenhofer who is a talented undergraduate at UGA.
VOX is affiliated with the University of Georgia Creative Writing Dept. The VOX Reading Series serves to bring both emerging and established writers to Athens, as well as to provide a stage for graduate students in the UGA Creative Writing Program. Founded in 2004 as an independently student-run series, VOX held events in venues throughout Athens until 2007, when, with the financial support of the Creative Writing Program, it moved to its current home venue, the Cine art theater.
