Athens Institute for Contemporary Art presents HOUSE, an exhibition of photography that examines the idea of ‘shelter’ in its various manifestations. Rinne Allen, Todd Eberle, Michael Lachowski, Jeff Luckey, Carl Martin, Evie McKenna, Stephen Scheer, Mark Steinmetz, Michael Stipe and Thomas Tulis are featured in ATHICA’s third invitational exhibition, curated by Carol John, Director of Arrow Gallery in Athens, GA. These diverse artists bring a broad range of perspectives to the works in the show. From those who are moved to document a unique structure, and those who question why the structure is there, to others who abstract a personal vision from it: the ten artists in HOUSE share a common bond in their explorations of domestic architecture, finding inspiration in the walls and roofs that provide – or preclude – shelter.
