Mr. Franceschini has practiced the magical arts for over 30 years. He learned and honed his skills in New York, a hub for conjurers....his local client list includes The Classic Center, Oglethorpe County Recreational Services, Bear Hollow, State Farm Insurance, Care Medical, Athens Montessori, Athens Toyota and more...his work is centered around pure sleight of hand. He uses no gimmicks, gaffs or trick boxes. With dexterous fingers, a keen sense of psychology, and a healthy wink, Franceschini defies our senses. Cards, coins, rope, and other common-place objects become objects of enchantment and the strange.
He has 10 years of elementary school teaching in the Athens-area under his belt, his performances for children play on their sense of wonder and curiosity... as ATHICA Director Lizzie Z. Saltz can attest "The kids are mesmerized, as well as amused by his great sense of humor…the patter is half the fun!"

  • ATHICA: Athens Institute for Contemporary Art is pleased to announce
its spring exhibition, Adventures in Mysticism, which brings together
the work of seventeen national and regional artists and artist teams
who explore transcendence, religion, and the preternatural. The
selected artists deal with the topic in a variety of ways, and work is
based on personal experience, critical looks at contemporary culture,
and the urge to translate abstract concepts into visual art. Despite
the variety of perspectives included, all of the artists deal with a
notion that is by its very nature unseen. The word "mysticism"
derives from the Greek term "seeing with the eyes closed," and it is
the problematic notion that underlies the work included in this exhibition.
